Alex Woodward was drafted to Hawthorn in the AFL - he subsequently finished his time playing with Collingwood in the VFL & suffered a total of 5 ACL injuries. He travelled overseas to seek treatment at Arsenal FC - he tried and tried. We delve into the famous 2018 Grand Final where he was the runner in a moment that caused him grief and guilt and a barrage of online hate. We delve into how the moment shaped him and what came from it. Finally, we discuss his current passion - helping people by being the best Finance Broker he can be via his business. ENJOY!

CORY HARGRAVE

Meet Cory, one of the co-owners & Directors of Pulse8 Centre based in Murrumbeena. Cory is known to be the designated specialist when it comes to working with some of the AFLs biggest names, as well as some of the the biggest Rising Stars leading up to being drafted into the competition. Cory talks us through how he had his AH-HA moment, when he quit his trades job, moved to Thailand for a period of time to teach ENGLISH before landing on his now career path - opening Pulse8 with his best mate, Joss. Meet Maddie Gleeson - a bubbly & dynamic Businesswoman who is behind IAMTHIRSTY. Prior to COVID-19 taking place, Maddie successfully ran IAMBOARD, but once COVID-19 took place, she needed to think outside the box.. and the idea sprung up with IAMTHIRSTY. The business itself, is all about Dehydrated Fruits; whether they be used for garnishes or as "snacks". Throughout this Episode, Maddie discusses with us how she pivoted her business from IAMBOARD to now IAMTHIRSTY, how she herself, will sell to stockists by storming into their stores & selling it, such as OASIS Bakery.. to now being stocked in WOOLWORTHS! A returning guest, Sally McCartthy is joined this time by one of her late son, Rob's best friends - Jez Devlin. November 26th is a big day for the Friends & Family of our very much loved late Rob, as it is the annual RunforRob. Meet Jack Hanley (again!) - Jack has been on the Podcast before but this time, his adventure is something EPIC! Its something of a monumental moment for a man that has had his own ups and downs that we have previously been through on this very Podcast. Meet Rash, Sal & Luc - the owners & founders of Beyond Technique Football School. Rashid Mahazi played for Melbourne Victory in the A-LEAGUE & spent time overseas in the K LEAGUE 1 with Incheon United. Luc Jeggo, applied his trade in the Norwegian League and lastly, Salim Mahazi (Brother of Rashid) who has held various roles across a vast amount of Sporting organisations. BTFS has quickly become popular amongst parents & students for having a holistic approach to the teaching of Football and has risen to the point of being Melbourne wide with various training sessions being held week in, week out with different coaches. During the Episode, the boys discuss how the idea of BTFS came about, why they wanted to do it, and, more importantly, why they wanted to be different in comparison to other Football Schools. BENNY CROCKER

Meet Benny Crocker. Probably one of the funniest humans you will meet. A larrikin, a loyal friend, amazing SON, brother & a heart of gold. Benny managed his trials by being drafted to Collingwood in the AFL, then being picked up by the Adelaide Crows. In a year where COVID-19 was prevalent - Bennys eyes & ears were firmly set back home here in Melbourne where his father Paul was deteriorating from the awful illness that is Early Onset Dementia. Benny talks about his love for his Dad, the memories they had & importantly how his family and friends dealt with it. He is an incredible individual that wears his heart on his sleeve & now continues to help others with the work he is doing out of the Hurt Locker in Richmond. An incredible person & a shining star 🌟 that had me, the host,  relatively teary (not unusual)

NATHAN FREEMAN

Meet Nathan Freeman, an ex AFL Footballer that was drafted to Collingwood in 2013 at Pick 10 & eventually traded to St Kilda in 2015 till he finally managed to get his body right in order to make his DEBUT in 2018. Nathan's career was unfortunately hampered by constant soft-tissue injuries & ultimately cut short. He did everything possible to get on the Park, including going Overseas to see a specialist. After years of trying & close-calls of being picked up by AFL Clubs - Nathan eventually moved into the Sports Management space. He has now found his new passion, being the CO-FOUNDER of The Breath Haus which focuses on Breathwork out of Windsor & has become a growing trend taking Australia by storm. DAMIEN CAVKA

Meet Damien Cavka - I know him as the biggest ROOSTER of an Electrician that there is, but he is a 27 year old who has married the love of his life (a Greek girl - which was another great decision made) & already has 3 young children (including twins!)
Damien was drafted to West Coast Eagles in the 2014 AFL National Draft but sadly due to a nagging Foot injury had to retire only a few years later. Coming back to Melbourne & being the family man that he is - he sat down with his Dad & came up with CAVOLT ELECTRICAL (a thriving Electrician business) that is continuing to build & grow.
This Dad is not only one of the BEST LOOKING HUMANS TO WALK PLANET EARTH but the most down to earth person you could meet that would literally do anything for anyone. A fantastic sit down chat & well worth the listen as we return for Season 2 of The Humble Climb Podcast!
